Fishing pants

Weather stops play. Again.

Due to the high water levels, the June weed-cut has been postponed for one week and will now start on Tue 10 June above Crossing C, provided the water levels are low enough to permit the Environment Agency to place its boom (which catches the floating weed) across the river at Salisbury. Further details are unclear. I will keep you informed as events unfold.

The river is full to overflowing and heavily coloured. After today’s rain it is unlikely to be fishable until Wed. Furthermore the banks are very wet, and this will remain a problem in some places until the weed is cut … whenever that is. Please don’t blame the Keeper for the water levels!

Currently the Mayfly hatch is occurring as late in the day as experienced members can remember. In the last 2 days, it has started at 4pm and gone on until 7pm.
